Fantastic Vibrator, but there's other (great) options too!

    Posted by Anonymous

This toy is practically a g-spot vibrating classic. At that, I've had my first Lelo Mona for well over 3 years at this point because it does a damn good job at hitting my g-spot, whether I just leave it in place or thrust it, and it makes a good clitoral vibe when I want that. But, I'll admit, I love the vibrations of the We-Vibe Rave more since they feel more rumbly at the lower settings. Hell, I even love how the Rave stays in place more than the Mona for me. So why rate this toy 5 stars still, even with there being toys that are comparatively better and/or cheaper? Well, that's because of two good reasons: the size/shape of the toy and the difference in feel of the higher/stronger vibration levels. The size and shape of the toy, in comparison to the Rave, presses against my g-spot and feels filling without any movement or maneuvering. It's a surprisingly girthy toy, not nearly as large as the Swan Wand but still fairly girthy. I DO feel like it has a tendency to want to rotate if I move my hips/thighs, which isn't a huge deal but more of an annoyance. And the increased cost? I would typically say it isn't justified, but the one justification I can find for it is a big one: I've never felt like the higher/stronger vibration levels get buzzy. I'm unsure why, but many vibrating toys tend to get buzzier the stronger the vibrations are. This is an unfortunate issue I've had with my beloved Rave. My Mona though? I never felt like it gets buzzier at the stronger vibrations, something I suspect is a benefit of the more expensive internal parts. As much as I love my Rave, I can say the Mona DOES offer benefits the other toy doesn't. As long as I'm not squirming around, it's a completely fantastic toy for when I want to do the absolute bare minimum. But, if the price is just a bit too much or the shape just isn't appealing, then I highly recommend the Rave or Swan Wand in comparison. Otherwise, I feel like the Mona does offer a lot of benefits that are well worth the cost.

    Makes Me Moan-a

Power Rating: Strong - Got me there without a problem. Noise Rating: Inaudible - Almost silent. Texture and material construction: The silicone on this toy is extremely smooth and soft. It has a matte rather than a glossy finish. The handle is made of ABS plastic. Review Details: Rating: 5 Stars Material: The toy has a faint chemical-esque smell out of the box, but a quick sanitizing with a 10% bleach solution gets rid of it. The toy doesn't taste like anything, and it has a smooth matte finish. Power: Strong Noise: Inaudible Details: The Lelo Mona 2 is the vibrator of my dreams. Endless sex toy reviewers have lauded it as a champion vibrator, and I had to have it and understand what they were talking about when they said things about "rumbly" vibrations and silk smooth silicone. And, let me tell you, the Mona 2 does not disappoint. The silicone on this toy is so soft it's ridiculous and the controls are simple to navigate and figure out. This vibrator has more than enough range when it comes to the levels of vibration intensity that it offers. I have never once wished for a higher intensity, and am often surprised when I realize that I am not operating the toy at its highest power. For internal stimulation I like to keep this toy on the lower settings, and with a little lube and warm up I can insert this toy easily. The gradual bump on the shaft nestles against my G-spot beautifully and makes for great orgasms with this toy alone. This toy can also be used externally as a clitoral toy and I find that the tip of it is pinpoint enough to work for me. The vibrations can be felt very slightly in the handle, but you'll never have to worry about your hand going numb, because they're barely felt there. Overall, the Mona 2 is a great buy and should be a staple in any great sex toy collection.

Nice, but it didn't work out for me

Power Rating: Effective - Just enough to get me there. Noise Rating: Quiet - Buzzes discreetly. Texture and material construction: This vibrator is constructed out of silky, smooth, flawless, matte silicone over a firm, rigid core. The silicone is truly a joy to touch and pet, but does not have any "give. " The handle, which houses the 4 control buttons, is made from smooth, shiny white plastic. The toy is non-porous, phthalate-free, and waterproof. Review Details: The Lelo Mona 2 was my first vibrator purchase in well over a decade. I'd had some failures with vibrators when I was much younger, but recently had the realization that vibrators (and sex toys in general) have really changed a lot for the better over the years. I decided it was time to get back on the vibrator horse, and I wanted to get a vibrator that could show me all the wonders the modern world of sex toys had to offer. I read the rave reviews on shopping sites and on blogs, and thought I couldn't go wrong with Mona 2! Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true. This vibrator is built well and it's beautiful, and I can see that it has the potential to be great...for someone else's genitals. I had a difficult time getting this to stimulate my G-Spot in a way that was comfortable for me. The way that area is positioned in my vagina (very far forward, and partially tucked away) makes it difficult for a firm toy with these dimensions to reach it effectively. Additionally, though I have put much larger objects and body parts in my vagina before and found it very pleasurable, I found that I experienced some mild discomfort with the Mona 2, even if I'd warmed up first. Again, I think the combination of the shape, size, and rigidity of this vibrator just happen to work against me instead of for me. I think if any one of those things had been different: if it had been smaller OR more flexible OR shaped differently, it would probably have done exactly what I needed it to. As far as the vibrations go, they're nice. I have used the Mona 2 to make myself orgasm clitorally, and it does deliver a good (but not mind-blowing) finish. To get there, I need it to be on the highest setting and sometimes it can take a while. I'm fairly orgasmic and the vibrations the Mona 2 has are perfectly respectable, so at first I was a bit confused about why it took so long for me to orgasm with it. It was especially confusing because I was able to orgasm easily with smaller, less powerful toys that I purchased after the Mona 2. What I came to realize is that I like low-frequencies, since those vibrations tend to travel to more surrounding areas and feel a bit deeper. If the vibration is "low" enough, it doesn't even have to be terribly fast to make me orgasm (though low AND fast will make me cum my face off). I've been reading a lot of sex toy review blogs lately, and I think this might be what many of the reviewers are referring to when they describe something as "rumbly." Rumbly is a really good word for it. High-frequency vibrations don't feel good to me for more than a few seconds at a time. Thankfully, the Mona 2 vibrations are not high-frequency. But I wouldn't call them low-frequency either. The Mona 2 is somewhere right in the middle, which is why I can orgasm (clit-only) with it, but also why it takes a while. Since the Mona 2, I've purchased several more vibrators, and have found others that can make me orgasm clitorally far more quickly, intensely, and reliably. I have quite a few that I like now, actually, but the We Vibe Touch and the We Vibe Tango stand out as favorites, and have the most powerful and low-frequency vibrations of any of the clit-centric vibrators I own currently. As far as G-spot stimulators, I'm still searching for the toy that can give me a G-spot orgasm, so I don't have any alternate recommendations - yet. I do have a few new toys on the way, though! I can say that I'm legitimately enjoying the search. If you're looking for a well-built, beautiful vibrator that can give you both clitoral and G-Spot orgasms, the Mona 2 MIGHT be that toy for you, but be aware that it truly might not. It wasn't for me. It was an expensive lesson, but I don't have any regrets for having tried it. I do feel like I learned a lot about how I orgasm and how my vagina is built because of my failure with this toy, and I am at least able to get a clitoral orgasm out of it if I need to.
