It is soft out of the box and becomes softer with each wash. The fabric still "grips" similar material making it compatible with all the other Liberator shapes. The cover zips off for easy cleaning (machine washable). The Arche does not have a waterproof internal slip but the cover does provide enough protection for natural amounts of fluid especially the more viscous types. | Review Details: My wife and I have many Liberator shapes and the Arche is one of our favorites. It comes in many pleasing colors and the pictures on the internet are true to the actual product's color. The Arche is smaller than the wedge making storage and concealment easier. Not to mention the color choices and the overall shape are more esthetically pleasing so you don't have to hide it. You still get the same lift which makes the Arche very useful for missionary (vaginal and anal), doggy-style, cow-girl, oral play for both, etc. Like all Liberator pieces, the foam is very stiff with minimal sinking/bending with use. I would definitely recommend this piece especially if you don't have a lot of room for storage and enjoy the more muted, earth-tone colors than the original Liberator lines.
