I often work out tight muscles in my back or neck which can easily be done by just lodging the device between your back and a couch or similar material. There are two power settings - high and very high, and when it is on and pressed against your back you sound a little bit like Darth Vader when you talk because of the frequency of the buzz. Just as important is its use for sex which is great as a way to warm up for ladies. My significant other uses it with clothes still on - I guess it is a little intense for direct skin contact. Vibration is deeper than most vibrators. She isn't super into vibrators but this seems to do the trick, and the convenience of not running out of batteries outweighs the irritation of the cord. The Japanese translated instructions are priceless "Don't use more than 15 minutes. That's really enough."

Easy to clean. | Review Details: Bottom line: It's reliable, strong, and battery-free at the cost of being loud, clunky, and pretty ugly. That said, I use mine often and it's a great toy to have in the box. Pros/Features: I like strong stimulation and it can reliably buzz me to an orgasm. Since it plugs into the wall it's never going to run out of juice and it has the power that small bullets don't. The vibrations are strong no matter what, but it has two settings, high and low. The low setting produces vibrations that are a little "deeper" and the high setting is a little "buzzier". The controls couldn't be easier to use, since there's just one big switch. Large size and long handle make it easy to control during especially active sex-play or absentminded masturbation. A fun addition to partnered play since it's great at raking in the orgasms with minimal dexterity/effort. Cons/Weaknesses: Keeps you tethered to the wall with a cord that's about 3 1/2 feet long. Only two speed options and those who are more sensitive may find the power to be too much. I know my roommate on the other side of the apartment can hear it every time I turn this thing on: it's really loud. The Hitachi has not had a re-design since the 90's or earlier (and the look has become sort of iconic), so it is an ugly object. Obviously not waterproof. The only concern you'll have to think about is where to plug it in. | Review Details: The Hitachi Magic Wand gets a good reputation - and for a reason. It's one of the biggest powerhouses out there! I definitely need strong vibrations sometimes, and you certainly can't beat the Hitachi! I've known people who have had theirs for over 10 years after purchasing it, so it definitely lasts a long time as well. I've met a couple of vibrators that can match the strength of the Hitachi (all that plug in), but I don't think I've ever tried a vibrator that exceeded the Hitachi's power. It definitely IS loud, though, so don't think you can get away with being discreet. This is not a vibrator to purchase if you have to share a house and don't want anyone knowing what you're doing. It also is a bit long (about the length of my forearm), but again, you really can't find anything that beats the strength of the Hitachi, so I'd happily put up with that (and more!) to continue to use this vibrator.

Ok, so this really does give a great shoulder massage - but its efficiency as a vibrator cannot be beat! Add to it any variety of fantastic attachments and you could stay in your bedroom all weekend. Try the Gee Whizzard by Vixen and the G-Pod by Nexus - 2 must haves in my book!
