The Guide To Getting It On has won five awards and has been translated into 12 foreign languages. It has sold hundreds of thousands of copies from the dorms of UC San Diego to the bedrooms of Tripoli. Some people say The Guide is the best how-to book on sex ever written
- we say it's the most fun to read. It is smart enough to be used in sex education courses, but is also a favorite at stores that sell the kind of sex toys that will land you in the slammer in Mississippi, Alabama and Texas. Schools even use it to train doctors. The Guide covers a full range of topics from romance, necking and losing your virginity, to things we can't even mention here.

This book has it all! Both an informative "sex ed" type guide and erotic manual, it's got everything from a comprehensive run-down on safer sex in plain language anybody can comprehend without feeling talked-down to, and even tips and tricks for improving and enhancing one's sex life. It's GBLT / Queer-friendly, kink-friendly, and polyamoury-friendly, and makes good use of real-life stories to add to the friendly charm and often humorous approach to a good and practical sex education; it even pokes fun at previous editions, and a new edition comes out at least every couple of years, as the author is always looking for ways to improve the content. I've been hooked since the third edition! I'd recommend this to absolutely anybody, from a college student looking for a non-nonsense and engaging start to exploring their own sexuality, to a parent looking for a comprehensive and plain-language guide to improve "the talk" (there's even a chapter on that!).
