Texture and material construction: (excerpt) First of all the Butterfly Kiss is definitely on the petite side: it has a small (1 1/8 diameter), teardrop-shaped bulb on the end of a narrow shaft that is intended, I suppose, to stimulate my g-spot. The g-spot portion of the toy is constructed entirely out of floppy TPR. Floppy, as in, how am I going to effectively angle and push and thrust this against my g-spot? kind of floppy.
Review Details:
The Butterfly Kiss is Cal Exotics budget venture into the dual-stimulation
category of vibrators. This category is usually typified by rabbit-style
vibrators, which are designed for simultaneous clitoral and g-spot
stimulationbig promises that I was initially skeptical the Butterfly Kiss
would fulfill.
First of all the Butterfly Kiss is definitely on the petite side: it has a
small (1 1/8 diameter), teardrop-shaped bulb on the end of a narrow shaft
that is intended, I suppose, to stimulate my g-spot. The g-spot portion of
the toy is constructed entirely out of floppy TPR. Floppy, as in, how am I
going to effectively angle and push and thrust this against my g-spot? kind
of floppy. As a girl who often turns to her stainless steel
Pure
Wand for g-spot satisfaction, my dreams of simultaneous g-spot and
clitoral bliss were fading fast.
Then, of course theres the butterfly-shaped clitoral stimulator, which
resides over a three-speed internal bullet vibrator. Here I have to admit
that the overall aesthetics of this toy kind of kill me. Naturally, there
are important things than what a toy looks like, but why would you design a
vibrator to mimic a butterfly flapping at hyper-speed against my clit? This
does not appeal to me. I dont want butterflies anywhere near my clit. The
butterfly combined with the little hearts festooning the body of the toy and
the girly purple color kind of remind me of a vibrator Lisa Frank would
design for Katy Perry. Surely this appeals to some people, but I like my
toys a little more sculptural, minimalist and, well, sexy. Because isnt
that the point?
But I digress. At the end of the day, Im all about function. After all,
silly aesthetics do not preclude orgasms any more than good looks guarantee
them! Although the Butterfly Kiss comes off a little twee at first, it
certainly does not limit itself to demure, lady-like vibrations. This thing
is actually kind of a powerhouse. The internal vibrator has three speeds
escalating from nice to impending orgasm to holy shit, thats intense.
Granted, Im no Hitachi girl, but I have a feeling the vibrations here could
probably get most women to orgasm. Theyre strong and not overly buzzy or
rumbly, but kind of middle-of-the-road. My biggest qualm with the vibrations
is that because theres only three speeds controlled by a push-button rather
than a dial, you cant pinpoint just the level you want; I kept finding
myself needing a little more but getting overwhelmed by the next level up.
Although there is a platinum edition with "9 functions of vibration,
pulsation, and escalation," available that seems to have sorted out that
problem.
Unfortunately, even though I was impressed with the vibrations, the
Butterfly Kiss absolutely does not deliver on the combined g-spot and
clitoral stimulation it promises. My initial reservations about the
floppiness of the shaft were right on and the angle of the shaft vis-à-vis
the angle of the clitoral stimulator just did not work for me. If the little
butterfly was flapping just where I wanted it, the soft internal part was
kind of wedged against the back of my vagina. Definitely not where my g-spot
is. Ultimately, the internal part of the toy just served as something to
squeeze against, which was nicebut not as nice as g-spot stimulation.
Although the angle might work better with different bodies, I think
floppiness is a fatal flaw in a g-spot stimulating design.
For a toy that markets itself as a dual-stimulation toy, not being
dual-stimulation is kind of a serious thing. That said, its definitely
affordable and if youre satisfied with only a little bit of internal
stimulation to accompany your external vibrations, its definitely a good
buy.
Snag the Platinum Butterfly Kiss over at SheVibe.com, who were kind enough
to send it to me to review.
The Quick and Dirty: Although it ultimately fails as a
dual-stimulation toy, strong vibrations belie its girly looks and make it a
satisfying budget buy.
● Strong vibrations
● Provides some, albeit minimal, internal
stimulation
● Too small and floppy for g-spot stimulation
● Cute and petite...take that as you will.
● Made of TPR, which is porous; e.g., if you're
going to share, use a condom!
● Uses 2 AAA batteries |

Good beginner's toy to internal/external stimulation

Product Rating: 3 Stars - I enjoyed it. A good value. | Power Rating: Effective - Just enough to get me there. | Noise Rating: Quiet - Buzzes discreetly. | Texture and material construction: The Butterfly Kiss Platinum is made out of TPR and ABS plastic, which feel nice and smooth but unfortunately cannot be sanitized. On the plus side, this material is hypoallergenic, latex and phthalates-free. It's also waterproof!
This vibe has a bulb end and a clitoral attachment in the shape of a butterfly. There's a little patch of textured ridges on the butterfly "body" for extra clit stimulation. The material is smooth, a tiny bit tacky to the touch (watch out for lint!), and very flexible; you can easily bend the insertable end it back with one finger.
Its total length measures about 7.5" including the handle, which is hard plastic and features raised hearts (cute!). The insertable length, however, is only 3.5", and the girth is about 1.15."
It is controlled by a push button at the bottom of the toy... The unfortunate part about this is that it means you must cycle through the settings (9) to turn off the toy. NOT GOOD if you fear you might be walked in on (roommate, for example)! Takes 2 AAA batteries. | Review Details: This is the best intro-to-dual-stimulation on the market. It's basically a classic rabbit vibe, but instead of a rabbit/rabbit ears your clit is being stimulated by the fluttering antennae of a butterfly. The wings of the butterfly also hug and cup your clit/vulva, which is nice. As I mentioned above, there is a bit of texture on the clit attachment, which feels nice but doesn't do a whole lot for me, personally.
I would recommend this for beginners, but I can't say it does much for me anymore now that I've experienced a vaster array of toys. It's very nice, but not a favorite.
This toy is great for beginners and/or squeamish ladies because it's not intimidating: the butterfly shape, pastel colors, and hearts on the handle make this a cute, un-scary toy. Size-wise it's relatively small and narrow (again 3.5" insertable, girth 1.15"), which is good for those just starting out or those women with smaller vaginal canals. Unfortunately for me, it's not long enough to hit my g-spot, which is my biggest complaint about the toy.
I love a variety of modes, and there are NINE!-- quite a number for this inexpensive of a toy! As someone who enjoys pulsation options, I was happily surprised with the number of pulsation and escalation modes on this toy (6)! The vibes are moderately strong at best, but I don't like super industrial strength vibrators like the Hitachi Magic Wand so it worked well for me. You can feel the vibrations throughout the toy, but they are definitely centered at the base and you can feel them in the handle, which can be a tad annoying during a long session.
All in all: it's a popular, well-reviewed toy with NINE (9!) modes, and it's insanely cheap! It has lovely clit fluttering and, if it's long enough to reach your g-spot, a nice flexible bulb to stimulate you even more! ...and did I mention it's really cheap? Don't be afraid to try this toy, because it's lovely, and even if you hate it (which you won't!), you didn't waste more than 20 bucks (price here on Shevibe.com)!

Product Rating: 2 Stars - It's okay. Gets the job done. | Power Rating: Mild - Enjoyable but not orgasm inducing. | Noise Rating: Quiet - Buzzes discreetly. | Texture and material construction: The Platinum Butterfly Kiss is made of soft, pliable jelly material * Site Note – this item is made from phthalate free TPR. As a result the shaft is not very stiff and easily bends and flexes and as a result, not much vibration is transferred up to the bulb on the top | Review Details: I did not like the butterfly kiss as much and I thought I would. It looks really cute, but it is not powerful enough for me. It is also not shaped right to hit both my g-spot and clitoris at the same time. It is too small to insert completely and still have the butterfly hit where it is supposed to on the clitoris. Also the shaft is not stiff enough to carry vibration into bulb at the top and I couldn't feel any vibration in it at all. There is nothing wrong with its construction it is just too small to fit my body correctly. I would not recommend for someone who is well versed in toys, but as a first time toy for someone just starting out, or who wants something gentle I would say it would do okay.
